We work with you.
We use a range of therapeutic interventions in our children's physiotherapy to help support your child's development.
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is a therapeutic technique designed to improve automatic postural responses in a given range of challenges, which promotes progress towards physical milestones and gross motor skills.
Each session involves a variety of different exercises that challenge your child's neuromotor system to respond until the movement response becomes automatic. Through constant exposure to novel experiences, DMI stimulates neuroplasticity and facilitates new neural connections, ultimately improving your child's development of new skills.

FUNCTIONAL THERAPY

Functional therapy focuses on building a range of skills, such as balance and coordination, as well as muscle strength, power and endurance to help complete movements in everyday life.
We use a hands-on approach to help your child develop a particular functional skillset where we work consistently on a similar set of exercises for targeted skill development for your child.
This approach allows for consistent high levels of repetition so that your child can develop independence and confidence with these new skills. By performing therapy in the home and community environment, this allows for greater transference of skills into your child's everyday life.
STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE TRAINING

For some kids, participating in everyday activities and sports can be tough due to a lack of muscle strength and fatiguing quickly.
With our strength and endurance training, we target specific muscle groups using weights and a range of equipment to develop stronger, fatigue-resistant muscles.
This evidence-based approach will support your child to build the skills and confidence to be independent with physical tasks at home, less fatigued during the school day, as well as keeping up with their peers on the playground and during sports activities.
Play-Based Therapy

Play is a fundamental building block to help children build skills for problem-solving, self-expression, social development, as well as learning how to move and coordinate their bodies to interact effectively with others.
Play-based therapy is an effective, evidence-based intervention tool that is used as part of physiotherapy. It helps to engage children in a range of different movements and functional skills to help build their overall strength, balance, and coordination.
It can also help to support a child's self-regulation whilst managing challenging activities, promoting motivation, skill development, and building overall independence.
