ABOUT COMO THERAPY
Children's physiotherapy that fits around family life.
We're a mobile children's physiotherapy practice in Canberra. We see kids at home, at school or at day care, so therapy happens where life already does.

COMO (koh-moh) stands for Cohesive Movement Therapy.
One coordinated, holistic plan built around your child, so every person supporting them is working towards the same goals.
OUR STORY

Started by a mum who's been there
As a mum of a child with a disability, I know first-hand what it's like to navigate therapy, funding and everyday family life all at once. I also know how much difference the right support makes when it's delivered with real understanding.
And I know how hard it is getting to and from appointments, especially when there are several each week. That's why COMO is mobile: we come to you, at home, at school or at day care.
I started COMO Therapy to bring therapy to families where they already are, and to make sure every parent feels heard. Our team gets to know each child and shapes every plan around them and their everyday life.

HOW WE WORK
Family-centred care, delivered where you are
Where we see you
At home, at school, or at day care across Canberra and surrounding NSW, so therapy fits into your week rather than adding to it.
Who delivers it
Physiotherapists and therapy assistants deliver personalised programs, and our assistants can also work alongside your child's speech and OT team.
How it runs
Ongoing therapy, or intensive programs when your child is ready for a focused push.
OUR VALUES
The heart of how we work.
Empowerment
Your child and family have a real say in goals and how we get there.
Honesty
Clear, honest updates on progress, costs and what to expect.
Accessibility
We come to you, so getting to therapy is never the hard part.
Resilience
Celebrating every small win, so children keep trying and growing in confidence
Collaboration
Working openly with children, families and their whole care team.
WHO WE ARE
A small team with a lot to give
We get to know your child: their goals, their quirks and what makes them laugh.
Then we work together to help them make real progress.

Briony Abraham
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR · ALLIED
HEALTH ASSISTANT
Briony brings professional training and lived experience as a parent of a child with a disability. That perspective shapes how COMO works with every family.
She’s certified in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) Level A, has completed literacy training in the Sounds-Write phonics program, and has extra training in primitive reflexes and sensory processing. Her favourite part of every session? The smiles, the cheekiness and the determination of every child.

Rachael Downton
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Rachael is our physiotherapist, who loves helping kids and teens move, play and build the skills to do the things they enjoy. She creates every child’s program and works closely with families to set goals that matter to them. Rachael has worked as a physio in Australia and the UK, including the NHS, and is a former children’s gymnastics coach, so she knows how to make movement fun. She’s also a Clinical Pilates instructor and has volunteered with Riding for the Disabled.
OUR VISION
Every child moving, playing and living their best life,
with support that fits around their family.
